Bootstrapping, Modules and the Interactive Brand

…Right now, when a reporter is work­ing on a big fea­ture, she could pub­lish a few com­pelling inter­view excerpts or pho­tos as short posts while she’s assem­bling the nar­ra­tive. Many reporters already do this with their blogs… #

Personally, I think she has it exactly right (except I think it’s already possible—but maybe that’s for another post). #

  2. I agree, wholeheartedly.

    When I was run­ning writ­ing com­mu­ni­ties, we had to work out ways to main­tain con­sis­tency of story while act­ing increas­ingly episodic; five to seven groups run­ning games at the same time, in the same con­ti­nu­ity. It looked a lot like the Lego approach described above. We archived, linked cau­tiously to asides… While it wasn’t a brand, the effect was very similar.

    It’s been pos­si­ble for a while. But it’s time for pri­macy is coming.
